Littlefinger meets with Cersei and pledges the Knights of the Vale to her side, before breaking the news of Sansa's engagement to Ramsay Bolton. Identifying himself as simply "Brother Lancel," Lancel Lannister greets Littlefinger upon his return to the capital. He prompts Ser Jorah to play up his combat record so he can be sold not as a galley slave but as a warrior in the fighting pits of Meereen – getting them that much closer to Daenerys. Alarmed by their desire to kill him and sell his parts, Tyrion talks them into keeping him alive. The argument is cut short when the duo is captured by slavers. Tyrion and Jorah continue walking and debate Daenerys' right to the Iron Throne. Tyrion explains he went on the run after killing Tywin and Shae, then goes on to praise Jeor Mormont – "at least your father was a good man." As he mentions the passing of the Lord Commander, Tyrion belatedly realizes that Jorah didn't know about his father's death at the hand of Night's Watch mutineers. Criticizing Jorah as a terrible traveling companion, Tyrion realizes Jorah knows nothing about what brought him to Essos. Tyrion Lannister and Jorah Mormont stop along a stream, exhausted from their travels. But she is ready to become Someone Else." Jaqen denies Arya a new face: "A girl is not ready to become No One. Arya is mesmerized by the cavernous space filled with thousands of distinct faces collected from all the corpses. Jaqen keeps watch over the exchange and later, after Arya washes Ghita's corpse, he leads her into the Hall of Faces. "I just want it to end." Arya lies to the little girl, telling her that she too was once sick but drinking the waters of the fountain healed her. "She suffers every day of her life," says the man. Arya describes the Hound as a man she hated, and Jaqen hits her repeatedly when she insists it's the truth.Ī man arrives at the temple with his sick daughter, Ghita, and asks Arya to tend to the ailing girl. Jaqen H'ghar wakes Arya later that night to play the game, striking her when he detects a lie. Spotting the total belief in Arya's face, the Waif tells her she has failed again. She came to serve the Faceless Men in exchange for the death of her stepmother, who tried to poison her. Pressing the Waif about her origins, Arya learns she too was once a highborn girl from Westeros. Arya asks to play the Game of Faces again, but is told she already failed. ![]() Impatient with her corpse-cleaning duties at the House of Black and White, Arya demands details from the Waif about what happens to the bodies.
